Leave from Atlanta, Flight over Germany, Arrival in Israel.

Atlanta airport - leaving in 3 hour after baggage check Baggage checked - plane being loaded Prayer for our trip led by Pastor Bullock in the Atl airport At 35,000 feet, sometimes clouds, sometimes dark, - ocean, mountains and cities and rural areas. Hey, be careful with our bags as you load them. In flight - she's a little nervous, I can barely sit still Over Germany, you can see the autobahn from here. Speed limits extreme! Israel welcoming center - baggage claim

My parents live in the Atlanta area so I was able to spend some time with them before leaving out of the country. We made it to the airport, checked our baggage, prayed for safety, and settled in for the 13 hour flight. I couldn't sleep a wink.
Tel Aviv, Joffa,  Mediterranean Sea,

Tel Aviv is the most populated area in Israel. According to the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics, as of September 2005, the city's population stood at 376,700, growing at an annual rate of one percent. 96% percent of residents are Jewish, 3.0% are Arab Muslims and 1% are Arab Christians.

Jaffa is a port city on the Mediterranean Sea and the historic gateway into Israel. It is mentioned twice in the Old Testament. Once as the port-of-entry for the cedars of Lebanon for Solomon's Temple
(2 Chronicles 2) and once as the place from whence the prophet Jonah embarked for Tarshish (Book of Jonah 1:3).

The New Testament records that Simon Peter was in Jaffa to heal Tabitha the seamstress (Acts 9). On the roof at Simon the Tanner’s house, he had the vision of the sheet and then was called to go to Caesarea and see a man named, a centurion (Acts 10).

The Mediterranean Sea is a part of the Atlantic Ocean almost completely enclosed by land, on the north by Europe, on the south by Africa, and on the east by Asia (Israel included).

Hotel

 View from Tel Aviv hotel

From the hotel, we could see & hear the Mediterranean Sea. The rooms were small compared to American standards. The beds were twins pushed together and the air condition didn't work yet. The food was very different and we knew we were in for a weird diet for the next 10 days. The temperature is ranging around 55-45 degrees Fahrenheit.
